Job Description

This is a full-time position (with hybrid or remote options) with a safety-critical health tech company. The Software QA Lead will be in a leadership position and will be responsible for the management and organization of quality testing. Your job is to ensure that a project will have a successful promotion by providing quality software and testing to ensure that our software is developed according to the regulated guidelines. You will work closely with our CTO and developer team on a daily basis. 

About You
  • Experience with testing web applications, and solid understanding of how web applications are generally built (client <> server, HTML, …)

  • Medical device, pharmaceutical or biotech experience a plus

  • Experience with some web testing & browser automation framework required (Playwright or otherwise Cypress or otherwise Selenium, in this order of preference; we use Playwright)

  • Experience with Cucumber, a big plus

  • Experience working in QA/QC

  • Experience leading a team

  • Critical, analytical thinking

  • Great communication skills (English)

  • Some basic knowledge of JavaScript (TypeScript) and React, a plus

  • Knowledge of accessibility (and how to test for it), a plus

  • Experience working in a regulated field, a plus

  • Vienna, Austria local preferred; remote/hybrid possible

About the Role
  • Plan and execute manual testing, eventually leading a team doing that

  • Develop a solid understanding of our product and create new test protocols based on that

  • Drive automation of test protocols, so the team needs less manual testing (with extensive support from developers)

  • Verify that all defects are properly reported and tracked to closure

  • Continuously strengthen the team’s quality mentality, culture, and processes to “build in” quality at the start and throughout the SDLC versus only inspecting for it after the fact
